River Beach PTA welcomes you…
You may not realise but as a parent, as soon as your child joins River Beach School, you automatically become a member of the Parent Teacher Association.
The PTA is a fun and sociable way to bring staff, parents, carers and pupils together in support of our school. Throughout the year we hold a range of events which raise funds but just as importantly, bring together our school community. To stage our events we rely on the wonderful support of our parents and carers – no amount of time or gesture is too small or insignificant.
Our Committee is made up of several parents and staff members, and we have 4 officers: Chairperson, Vice Chair, Secretary and Treasurer. We generally meet once every half term for full committee meetings, and closer to event dates we may have smaller team meetings as necessary.
How do we spend the money we raise?
We are committed to spend the money we raise on items and activities that will directly benefit the children. We work closely with the School Council who often ask us for specific items – most recently we were pleased to provide the outdoor gym and funding towards the new adventure playground, as well as smaller things such as new water fountains in school, and playground equipment. We pride ourselves on providing the “nice-to-haves” that the school budget is unable to cover – disco’s, school trips, items for after school clubs, and the all-important annual visit from Father Christmas himself who brings a present for every child!
How can you be involved?
There are many ways in which you can be involved with the PTA. You don’t have to commit to meetings, or even come into school. There are lots of little jobs that can be done from home such as wrapping presents or preparing raffle tickets.
If you are able to give us some of your time helping to set up our events, or an hour manning a stall at the Summer Fayre – it is gratefully received! Many hands really do make light work and above all else, it’s a great way to be involved in your childs school! Please do get in touch with us – your help, no matter how big or small is most welcomed.
Our email address is email@example.com or you can leave your contact details with the school office and they will be happy to forward this onto us.
