Nursery is an integral part of the River Beach community, benefiting from the resources and learning opportunities that exist across the whole school. We believe this gives “Every Child, Every Chance, Every Day”.
Happy children learn… by first ensuring that your child is safe, secure and having fun, we build the platform for learning.
Our aim is to work with you to provide the foundation your child needs to make the most of their abilities and talents as they grow up. We aim to give your child a broad range of knowledge and skills that will support excellent progress through school and in life. We aim to create independent learners who view themselves as successful. We very much support the four guiding principles outlined in the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework
Every child is a unique child, who is constantly learning and can be resilient, capable, confident and self-assured
Children learn to be strong and independent through positive relationships
Children learn and develop well in enabling environments, in which their experiences respond to their individual needs and there is a strong partnership between practitioners and parents and/or carers
Children develop and learn in different ways and at different rates. The framework covers the education and care of all children in early years provision, including children with special educational needs and disabilities
Each child in Pebble has a designated Key Person. They are responsible for overseeing your child’s care as well as their emotional and physical well being. They will be the person who will get to know your child the best, and will act as the main link between home and Nursery. You are of course welcome to talk to any member of staff about any issues you may have, as is your child. Mrs Bullingham maintains overall responsibility for your child’s time in Pebble Class. Our routine allows your child plenty of one-to- one contact with their Key Person. During this time your child’s progress will be observed and recorded to help ensure that we are planning interesting and challenging activities to help them develop.
