Each year, the Year 6 children find out all about Fairtrade and why it is so important. The children find out all about what Fairtrade is and how workers are treated around the world. They then research different Fairtrade products and use our maths skills to work out what prices to charge in our cafe. On the final day, the children run their own Fairtrade cafe for all of the children in the school. We sell Fairtrade products, which the children have priced and created their own advertisements for. They also make posters and games which help other children to understand the work that is done by Fairtrade. This year we made £82, which was donated to Oxfam. We bought a couple of goats and helped to train a teacher.
