Welcome to Pebble Class

Choosing a nursery place for your child is one of the most important decisions you as a parent or carer can make. For many of you this maybe the first time your child has spent any length of time away from you and we recognise that both you and your child may have some anxieties. It is for this reason that we encourage you to visit the nursery and meet the dedicated and skilful Nursery Team who are passionate about creating an environment where each child can flourish. We will be more than willing to show you around our wonderful environment.

As a staff team we are committed to building effective partnerships with parents and carers to support children’s wellbeing and to enable them to thrive.

If you would like a tour of our Nursery, please contact the school office to make arrangements.

Induction for new Nursery Children

We aim to ensure that all children settle quickly and happily into the nursery.  Our induction programme provides several opportunities for you and your child to share information with our staff and get to know them:

  • Taking part in a formal tour or informal visit
  • Children and parents stay and play sessions
  • All about me questionnaires to find out favourite toys, interests and getting to know your family.
  • Further stay and plays arranged as required.
  • Graduation/Afternoon Tea at end of summer term for existing and new parents and a teddy bears picnic in September to help your child feel at home when they arrive and meet their keyworker.
  • Messages and stories shared from Nursery to home via Tapestry (online learning journal) in the weeks before starting.

During the induction, parents can share information with staff such as medical issues, special educational needs and disabilities or concerns. If you would like to arrange to meet with staff to discuss any particular needs in addition to this then please let us know.
